Adventure awaits
Adventure is out there. It’s waiting for you. Unfortunately, you’re likely not aware that it’s there because you are waiting for your son or daughter to realize that they’ve made a horrible mistake in cancelling you. You’re waiting for the call, the letter, the unannounced visit. You’ve probably imagined how the reunion will be. Tearful embraces, regretful retractions, a newfound appreciation. I had that with my father. He really did pull me to him and cry into my shoulder. He apologized with such vulnerability and love. It was the stuff of Hollywood movies. My dream came true when I least expected it. I wasn’t waiting for it.
I’ve been on hold waiting for my daughter to realize what she’s done to herself, to her family, to her future. The emptying out of her memories, the hate and the absence of gratitude for the humans that loved her, raised her and supported her with their time, money, love, hugs, encouragement and sacrifice. The people that love her unconditionally.
Waiting for a miraculous reunion to happen will stop your life right where it is. You will not open the door to the new adventure when it knocks. You will say no as you lay in wait forever. Don’t die waiting. Live. You are good. You are loved. You deserve to be happy and healthy. You deserve joy. Now go and get it.
